Second Look is built so your report stays on your device.
What happens to your report
When you open a report, it is read by code running in your own browser. The file is not uploaded, stored or sent to us or anyone else. On the main site the page is locked by a browser security rule that blocks it from sending data anywhere.
What can be kept on your device, only if you choose
- Contract settings, if you tick "Remember my contract on this device".
- Monthly summaries (code totals only, no file or patient details), if you tick "Keep a summary of this report on this device".
These stay in your browser's storage. You can remove them at any time with the page's Clear option or by clearing your browser's site data.
Optional features in some versions
- Ask your report sends code totals and the figures shown on the page to an AI service to answer your question. It never sends your file or patient details.
- Anonymous pay sharing stores your specialty, state, practice setting, years in practice, rounded wRVU and pay ranges, and pay per wRVU. It does not store your name, employer or report. Results are shown only in groups.
Patient information
Second Look is not designed to receive patient information, and our servers never receive your report. Some reports include patient details; because files are read only on your device, those details are not transmitted. Check your employer's policies before using any tool with work documents.
Email updates and feedback
If you sign up for updates or send feedback, we receive only what you type into that form (for example your email address and comments), plus the specialty shown on the page if one is selected. These are stored with our website host, Netlify, and used only to reply to you and send Second Look updates. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete them at any time by replying to any email.
Payments
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. We receive your name, email and what you bought, but never your card details. Stripe's own privacy policy covers the payment itself.
Sharing your results
Share images, such as "My best hour," are drawn on your own device. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to share or save the image yourself.
Analytics and cookies
We do not use cookies, advertising or third-party analytics. To know how Second Look is used, the page makes a small anonymous request when certain things happen, such as a page view, a report or sample being analyzed, or the calculator being used. That request names only the event and, where relevant, the specialty. It never includes your report, its contents or anything you typed. Like any website host, Netlify keeps standard technical logs of requests, which include your IP address and browser type, for a short time.
